Himal Power Limited (HPL) owns and operates Khimti I Hydropower Project, the first private sector power project in Nepal, developed on a Build-Own-Operate-Transfer (BOOT) structure.
HPL was established in 1993 as a joint venture of Butwal Power Company (BPC), Statkraft SF, Alstom Power a.s. (formerly ABB Kraft), and GE Energy a.s. (formerly Kværner Energy). Statkraft, BKK and BPC are current shareholders of HPL.
