Khimti I Hydropower Project Felicitated

Seventeen years after Khimti I Hydropower Project was put on commercial operation in July 11, 2000, HPL was felicitated for completing the project successfully, amidst a function jointly organized by Department of Electricity Development (DoED) and Independent Power Producers’ Association, Nepal (IPPAN) on the occasion of 23rd DoED Day on Sunday 16th July 2017. The function was attended by Secretary Ministry of Energy, Director General of DoED, NEA officials and several private developers who has already started commercial operation of  their project. This was the first event of it’s kind and DoED has expressed it’s satisfaction over hard work done by the private sector and promised to continue the support to private sector and also continue the event annually.

HPL General Manager, Dr. Sandip Shah, received the letter of appreciation on behalf of HPL. Khimti with a license No. 001 is the first private sector hydro power developer of Nepal.
